Hi all, I'm Kira. I'm 17. I'm a sophomore in college. So far I've spent two semesters at Simon's Rock College of Bard, a summer at Lehigh University, and a semester at Northampton Community College. I'm supposed to be a physics major or something, although my current physics professor sort of beat my love of physics out of me.
I tend to have too many things that I like/enjoy to ever pick one. If I chose just one, maybe there would be something besides horses that I was really, really good at. I ride horses competitively, and it's taken up most of my life. When it comes to school, I love math and science, but also language and literature, and history is fun too.
When it comes to art... my great grandmother was an artist, but I've never had as much time for it as I would like. I've done mostly photography, although recently (within the last year, really) I've started painting a bit with acrylics. I have a sketchbook, and some things I'd like to scan, but I'm a perfectionist and, since I can't ever draw from my imagination, I get frustrated with that more than anything.
That's about it, I suppose. Except for my tendency to, every once in a while, start a novel. Or dye my hair pink.

I often find myself thinking about details of construction; going through New York, for example, what interests me is not the grand sweep of all that crap, but the minutae - the bolt in the wall, quietly rusting away, or the molding around the windows of an abandoned apt. building. Who put them there? What were they like? I've tried quite a few times to capture that in a picture, but I never can. You like detail, you're good with a camera - you try? ^^
